David A. Nelson
David A. Nelson is a partner with Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass LLP. He has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He has experience litigating all aspects of insurance and reinsurance related disputes, first and third party coverage and claims defense, and multi-layered policy defense of complex property losses. He has handled a diverse range of coverage issues relating to manufacturing, chemical, and refinery claims, and complex flood / hurricane / explosion catastrophe claims, as well as provided litigation assistance to insurer involved in defense of large manufacturer in putative class action lawsuit seeking property damage related to chromium contaminated sites in New Jersey, including supervision of local counsel. He has also represented a number of not-for-profit entities in the defense of sexual assault and sexual abuse claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Nelson was an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, where he served in both the trial and appeals bureaus. He is admitted to the New York and New Jersey bars, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the United States District Court of New Jersey, the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Nelson is a graduate of Boston University School of Law. where he was on the National Moot Court Team, and Binghamton University.
