Katharine A. Lechleitner
Katharine Anne Lechleitner joined Mound Cotton in 2017. She has worked on recent high-profile cases involving Covid-19 property damage coverage and won full dismissals for her clients in Invision Development Group v. Continental Casualty Co. and Marilyn’s Kids v. Continental Casualty Co., the latter decision reported by Law360. Other notable cases include Gitelman v. City of NY, in which Mound Cotton won summary judgment for its client, and Jones v. FC USA, Inc., d/b/a Liberty Travel, in which Mound Cotton successfully motioned for dismissal on the grounds of forum non conveniens. Super Lawyers recognized Katharine as a New Jersey Rising Star in Insurance Coverage for the past three years. She has lectured about the Prompt Pay Act’s impact on construction for the New York City Bar. She is an attorney member appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to the District XB Ethics Committee for West Morris and Sussex Counties.
During law school, Katharine interned at the New York State Supreme Court, Nassau County; the New York State Office of the Attorney General; and the District Court for the District of New Jersey. Prior to joining the firm, Katharine was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rosemary E. Ramsay, Presiding Judge of the Civil Division, Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris County, and practiced at a large, national insurance defense firm.
She graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a student attorney for the Center for Social Justice, Immigrants’ Rights/International Human Rights Clinic and a member of the mock trial team. She received her B.A., cum laude with honors, from Ursinus College in Politics with minors in English and International Relations.
