Erika J. DiMarco
Erika DiMarco is an associate at Mound Cotton. She focuses on Healthcare Liability and Insurance Coverage. She concentrates on evaluating complex legal issues, including coverage issues, and developing strategies to effectively and economically resolve her cases. She assists with drafting policy wordings, including a professional liability policy and various endorsements. DiMarco also monitors active litigation involving insureds and evaluates the liability risks for the insurers. She oversees local defense counsel on nationwide programs and participates in mediations, settlement negotiations, and trials.
She also has experience managing various reinsurance programs for health and hospital systems across the nation. Erika has performed audits of the hospitals’ claims portfolios and risk-management departments, evaluating liability risks for reinsurers.
Prior to working in Healthcare Liability, DiMarco was a medical malpractice defense attorney at a reputable New York law firm, where she defended over 100 medical malpractice cases through all stages of litigation, including, but not limited to: discovery, taking/defending depositions, court appearances and arguments, meeting with experts, and negotiations.
She received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, her Masters in Public Health, with high honors, from The Milken Institute at George Washington University, and her B.A. in Criminal Justice and Communications from the University of Albany. She is admitted to the New York Bar.
